Consultancy

If you are a venue manager, director or producer looking to make your live performance work accessible for both audiences and artists, a qualified access consultant is key to the process. Donā€™t leave your access considerations to the last minute - for a project to be accessible, it must be a core component of planning, funding, programming, and design decisions.

As a member of The Last Avant Garde research team at University of Melbourne (Beyond the Social Model: Disability and the Performing Arts in Australia) (ARC, AAV, UniSyd) under chair Kath Duncan, I have a unique understanding of the needs of d/Deaf and disabled artists in a performing arts setting. Further, my research into accessible theatre practice at University of Southern Queensland tests the application of accessible theatre practice conventions in an original theatrical work. These findings put me in the optimal position to guide your organisation and/or theatre project planning to make your work and creative processes more accessible, while my experience in arts administration means that I am familiar with the needs and workings of arts organisations.

I offer several consultancy packages to suit a variety of needs. If you are unsure which option would suit you best, please get in touch by clicking the black button below.

One-Off Consultation Rates

  • 1hr consultation - $85.00 (suitable for basic discussion of access requirements and the needs of your project or organisation)

  • 2hr consultation - $140.00 (suitable for longer discussion of access requirements, the needs of your project or organisation, and the formulation of an access plan tailored to those needs)

  • Additional resource pack: $50.00 (for the collation and distribution of appropriate resources tailored to your needs)

If after our consultation, you find that you need an information pack (like a guide or a manual) for the implementation of access strategies or plans for your project or organisation, I can help. My information packs are personalised to suit the needs of your business or organisation and will contain an Access Plan with recommended timeline for implementation. An accompanying training session is highly beneficial for all staff and creatives to ensure everyone receives the same information and is on the same page.

Information Packs/Manuals and Accompanying Training

  • Information Pack/Manual - $150.00 standalone resource personalised for you (as PDF).

  • Information Pack/Manual + accompanying 1hr training session (delivered in person) - $250.00

  • Information Pack/Manual + accompanying 2hr training session (delivered in person) - $300.00

GST is not payable. A 20% deposit is required for training sessions and consultancy sessions. Cancellations of 24hrs or less prior to agreed session will forfeit the 20% deposit to cover administration and resource costs. Community and not-for-profit rates may be considered upon request, please contact via the button below.
